Williamson Studio

Robert Williamson is a visual artist best known for his contemporary murals in the hospitality field, including his series of signature pieces for Starbucks which were featured in their stores worldwide. 

Cultivating a stylistic versatility, he creates large scale paintings, using both hand-painted and digital media, as well as highly textural wall sculptures and easel paintings that address broad themes of visual perception, cross-cultural connection, and the natural world. He forged an eclectic education that included studying with various Japanese calligraphy masters, assisting international environmental sculptors, and mounting shows while living in Italy.

Using Seattle as a base for 35+ years he worked first with a partner as Eclectic Surfaces, and for the past 20 years as Williamson Studio*. Coordinating with interior designers and architects on custom artwork for many types of products in both commercial and residential fields. These are often artworks and graphics that tell a story, create a signature image for a brand, or evoke a time, place or atmosphere, and always contribute to a unique sense of place.
